First launched in 1979, Absolut Vodka 4.5L soon became one of the world's most sought-after vodkas. The recipe, however, is older and is based on the Absolut Rent Brännvin of 1879.
The main ingredients come from natural resources and include pure Swedish spring water and winter wheat. Instead of a common distillation of 4 to 5 times, the creator distilled this vodka an infinite number of times. 100 years later, in Ahus, Sweden, this process was re-introduced and Absolut, as we know it today, was born. The bottle design is inspired by an old pharmacist's bottle from the 19th century, found in an antique store.
