The 2006 was released later than the 2007 and 2008 because it was found at Vega Sicilia wine that still needed some more time in the bottle. The releases of Vega Sicilia are still in this order: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2005 and now 2006. The 2006 Vega Sicilia Unico consists mainly Tempranillo with some 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels in 225 liters of French for six years and American oak barrels and 20. 000 liters of oak barrels. The extra time in the bottle helped the wine to develop its bouquet and it feels very aromatic and open, with the classic Vega Sicilia perfume of yesteryear, earthy and spicy. The wine is still very strong but at the same time it is elegant and has a polished mouthfeel with fine-grained tannins. All the wines from Vega concentration combine with elegance and linking intensity, and variety of complexity and length. Simply Top but we also speak enfin Vega Sicilia.
