2016 Alión

- View: dark ruby ​​color with purple trim.
- Nose: Aromas of red fruits, spices, dried fruit and toasted wood.
- Mouth: Round Body, full, complex, elegant tannins. It has flavors of red fruits, spices and toasted wood tones. long, dry finish.

APPELLATION: Ribera del Duero.
VINEYARD: Vega Sicilia.
GRAPES: Tempranillo.

AGEING: 20 months in French oak barrels, followed by 15 months in bottle.
DEVELOPMENT: The grapes are harvested by hand and taken to the winery in small wooden boxes. The wine is fermented in small oak barrels for a period of 14 weeks at controlled temperatures. The wine is allowed to stand to get their best taste and aromatic characteristics.

PAIRING: Red meats, game meats, roasts, snacks, aged cheeses, chocolates.

Amazing cherry colour. This wine from Bodegas Alión smells like red fruit compote.It reminded me of licorice.
I think the best pairing would be with meat.
