Château L'Évangile 2008

  • 4 /5
Château l'Évangile is a great Pomerol wine offered here in the 2008 vintage, a vintage that will mature in a few years. It offers a dress with a dense black color with purple highlights. The nose is intense and dominated by aromas of mocha, stone fruit, violet and spices. The mouth is very wide with a powerful but smooth texture and sweet finish with very soft tannins. You can taste it today but it is still best to keep some in the cellar if you can. The year 2008 Pomerol enjoyed a late flowering and yields were very low (27 hl / ha). The summer was hot and dry in July, cool in August and ideal conditions settled in September and October, which allowed to achieve perfect ripeness. Born with the vineyards of Pomerol in the mid 18th century Chateau The Gospel is the heart of the appellation, bordered to the north by Petrus and west by Conseillante.
