2016 Château Carbonnieux (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot)

Carbonnieux Red Castle - 2016

TASTING NOTES OF 2016 Château Carbonnieux:

  • View: Garnet thin, dark red
  • Nose: The nose is very pure, with vibrant intensity. When the wine is agitated, it dominates the fruit, with aromas of black fruit of exceptional quality (mulberry blackcurrant, cherries ...) mixed with subtle smoky notes.
  • Mouth: Audacious, fleshy and crunchy, marked by the fruitiness of the grapes ripened optimally. Tannins are still somewhat young, density and volume means for the palate. The finish is long with very nice toasted and spicy touches. The balance between tannic matter, the acidity of style and elegance of the wine, supported by an expressive and complex nose.

2016 harvest should remain on hold for a few years, to have time to express their full value.

PAIRING: Grilled meat or fish

Caste: Merlot 35% - 65% Cabernet Sauvignon

Château Carbonnieux 2016

I do not recommend pairing this red of Château Carbonnieux with meat. Good wine and good company.
Very dark Bordeaux colour. Aromas of cherries. Too watery in the mouth.

Reviews about Château Carbonnieux 2013

The 2013 vintage offers soft tannins, followed by a slight woody, just mastered. It owes its fruity Merlots precisely selected by the famous Denis Dubourdieu.
Carbonnieux have tamed this vintage,...

This red wine is cherry with brown edges. It smells of wild berries. Softer than 2013.
It was served while having an appetizer.
I opened the bottle for my best friend.
