Château d'Issan is one of the oldest properties in the Margaux appellation. The wine was served at the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine, is the twelfth century. The Latin motto of Château d'Issan is "Regium mensis aris that deorum" ie "For the table of the Kings and the altar of the Gods."
Located in the commune of Cantenac, the 53 hectares of Issan extend in the heart of the appellation, just a few hundred meters from the famous Château Margaux well, which speaks volumes about the quality of its soil. The vines of the vineyard is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot 35%.

Château d'Issan 2012 is a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, which is mature to give the wine depth and delicacy. It also offers beautiful notes of red and black fruits, on a background rather floral, with silty suspicion.
