2008 Wolf Blass Sémillon Chardonnay "Red Label" (Chardonnay and Sémillon)
Wolf Blass name comes from an enterprising German oenologist who arrived in Australia in the sixties. After working as enologist independently, he decided to create his own winery in 1967 in the heart of Barossa Valley. Their wines were very successful from the start, winning the favor of critics and public alike. The winery expanded rapidly, thanks to the success of his now legendary Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon, which allowed buying vineyards in other producing areas of Australia. The winery grape is self-sufficient by 50%, which facilitates the uniformity of quality and style in wines. The style of its wines is a strong flavor of ripe fruit, with clear presence of its aging wood and soft tannins explaining their success achieving an "easy to drink", yet high quality wine.
