Burgundy wines
The Burgundy, located in the east of France, is the wine region with the largest number of denominations of origin per square kilometer. So divided up that it resembles a mosaic seen from the sky, it establishes each are in its own homeland, but with two strains only, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
In the Burgundy region, granite-type soils with limestone and clay abound, with gentle slopes cultivated up to 70% with vines of the noblest strain, Pinot Noir. This results in what is considered to be the best red wines in the world.
The best white wines of Burgundy can be found in the areas of Meursault and Puligny, towards the south of the region before Chalan-sur-Saône and Mâcon, where the famous Pouilly-Fuissé is produced.
